Winter Wonderland? In California?

So, this morning we all woke up to about 6 inches of white-powdery substance called...snow. This, snow, is very out of place here in this part of California. Example 1: Alex looks out the window during breakfast and yells "Wow! Look at the butterflies!", of course refering to the giant flakes of white falling from the sky. Example 2: Driving to the mall to drop off my lovely lady Brittany to work, we passed by at least 5 accidents on the road.....the mall is a whopping 3 1/2 miles away from our house! lol. Example 3: the kids got all bundled up with boots, gloves, hats, and jackets to go outside to build a snowman....my son Alex had no idea how to walk with winter boots on. In fact, when he asked me if he could go outside, he asked for his flip-flops. lol
So, there you have it. A short, sarcastic story of our morning/day of our California winter wonderland. The kids are having a blast, while the adults are remembering days of Utah, while Brittany and I are getting questions like, "you sure you want to move to Utah?". lol. Too much fun.

First real date!

December 14th was the way overly due day that my year divorce was final! So Brittany and I celebrated by having our first date as an official couple! It was so much fun! We started the day by going to IHOP for breakfast, then drove the two hours to Sea World.
It was Brittany's first time to Sea World and it was very exciting to watch her beautiful smile as we looked at all the exhibits, shows, and attractions. We had such a blast. We even went on the Atlantis ride, which is a wet one, even though it was probably a good 65 degrees outside. lol.
After Sea World, we went to our favorite sushi resteraunt in San Diego called Umi Sushi. The food as always was absolutely amazing!

"See my Mannis!"

Today the kids were playing outside like they normally do when shelbi busts in and shouts "a bug!". So I go outside and notice a praying mantis is chillin near their slide. They were enthrauled. It was cute to see all of the kids surround this bug and watch their curious little eyes stare intently as they examined this new bug. Well, not 30 seconds later, Savanna comes in a says "see my mannis! She's sleeping! Come here!". I go outside and find Shelbi in tears holding her hand explaining to me that the bug bit her. In her self defense she squashed the "mannis". Of course they don't understand that she killed it, so they ripped off a piece of newspaper and laid it over the bug like a blanket because it was "sleeping". This was too funny I just had to share. lol

Growing Up

So this morning Alex got out of his crib, like he does every morning, and woke me up. After realizing what time it was I asked him to just lay with me. Well, as you know children once they are up are up. So we started chatting. I told him "I missed you so much yesterday"(I had to go to a training seminar for work) and he said yeah. Then I told him I love you and he replied I love you? I said yeah I love you. And I asked him"What do you say when someone tells you I love you?" He then put his hand on his chin and said... "Let me think". He is only two years old and absorbs EVERYTHING. I just thought it was the cutest thing. Later on that morning Brad had burped and he yells out to him "Excuse you Brad". Made us all laugh. They grow up so fast and at this age it seems like its all too fast.
