"We have ten minutes to do it!"

We have all but ten minutes to write our blog and update you all what is going down in the life of Brittany and Travis.
First: We went on a 5 day Cabo-Cabo cruise for Brad's birthday and it was awesome!!! We had such a great time with everyone. Our group consisted of Shawn and Emily, Mike and DeeDee, Matt and Alyssa, Karli and Juarez, Mom and Dad, Brad and Amanda, and Brittany and myself. First day of Cabo we all hung out at the beach and did some souvenier shopping. Later that night I was hypnotized and fractured a rib. The next day of Cabo we did a snorkeling adventure, beach hopping on a freaking fast speedboat and snorkling some very private waters. Way too much fun! The rest of the cruise was such a blast, and again...I have ten minutes to write the updates, but details will have to wait.
Second: Brittany went to the hospital the other night when she started having contractions all day long. She is fine, but now has to take medication to stop further contractions (she is only 26 weeks along...still needs to bake awhile) and is now put on bedrest the duration of the pregnancy.

That is the quicky update, and sorry for the lack of updates on this thing. Our bad! Love you all!

Picutre of our TBD baby girl!

So, I figure that I would post a blog and give an update on Brittany's pregnancy before I go to work this morning since she probably won't get time to do so...and I'm so freakin' excited about the baby I can't stop talking about it! lol.

Here is a picture of our (the doctor is about 90% sure) little girl, Abbigail Mae Royer. If somehow she happens to pop out a little wee-wee and become a HE and not a SHE...we will most definately post updates everywhere. But...the doc is quite sure that it's a girl, and no sign of balls or one-eyed trouser snake anywhere. OH! And I got to see her kicking around during the ultrasound! Way too cool. lol Anyways, enjoy the blurry pic in which (unless you are a woman) you can't tell what is the baby. But it does have a head, heart, body, arms, and legs...the arm is in front of her face...good seeing it in my blurry pic. lol

Oh ya...We're pregnant too!

Ya, we kinda forgot to announce our prgnancy so for those of you who don't already know...Brittany is pregnant! She is about 12 weeks along so far which is almost exactly one month apart from Amanda. We FINALLY got approved for insurance and are having our first appointment on the 27th of July...15 minutes apart from Amanda at the same location. I think the girls are having way too much fun with this stuff. lol

Family Beach Pictures

So, I finally decided to take the initiative and post about our family picutres experiance at the beach. We had an absolute blast! All of the kids and us adults had a great time playing in the water, taking pictures, and later walking the pier checking the sites. Of course the kids got a little testy at the end, but the free ice cream truck handing our free fudge bars to the kids helped better the situation some. Thank you SOOOO much Alicia for taking the time coming to California and spending time with our family again. We absolutely LOVE your work, not to mention on a more personal basis, LOVE your friendship. Well, here are some of the pics that were taken that day! OH! And I've got an update on my book writing status...Feb 2010 is my completetion goal, and I've knocked out yet another chapter, changed some names a bit to fit the overall feel of the book, and am WAY excited to finish.

Sinister 7

FORWARD

-----------------------------------------------------------
When it started, nobody knew exactly what was going on. At first it was overlooked by the general public as another “scare tactic” used by the government to make more money from fear of an outbreak like they did with the swine flu, bird flu, SARS, etc. Not a single person I know prepared for what was going to happen. In fact, we were down-right careless. I feel like it was still government’s fault simply because they cry wolf way too often when the economy, or I.E., their wallets are running dry.

The infection doesn’t start right away of course, and the physical signs don’t appear for quite some-time either. This made it really hard to know exactly who was infected and who wasn’t. At least it’s not airborne like everyone thought at first, thank god!

Could you imagine if it was airborne?! There would be nothing left, NOTHING!!! Earth would become a dead planet as far as I know. Maybe that’s what happened on Mars? Maybe there was life, or some kind of civilization and some crazy airborne infection took over…maybe it doesn’t have to be airborne to eventually take over. Maybe we have a dead planet already and I haven’t accepted the reality of it all. Maybe I’m already dead.

We think the infection originated from India on one of the Leper colonies. We do know that the virus is somehow connected with the leprosy disease. The government thinks that it mutated into some “super-virus” after it combined with who knows what. I don’t really know the exact theory on this, all I know is the name we call it…Sinister 7.

Who came up with the name? I don’t know, but it caught on like a wild fire though. Videos of the infection popped up all over the internet from people either keeping a video diary as they changed, people “exterminating” them, looting, beatings, you name it. This went on for months until communications finally shut down. That’s when it finally sunk in to society’s thick skulls that this is no joke. People are dying! EVERYONE is dying, and the only way to keep from dying was to kill yourself morally and rely on your survival instincts until not even that is good enough! There are no heroes, no shiny light at the end of the tunnel, no rules; just you doing what needs to be done to survive.

All I know is that I am getting tired of surviving. Tired of seeing everyone I love get torn to pieces by those things, turning into those things. Lately I have been having fantasies at night when I pass out from exhaustion that I am infected, what it would be like not to run anymore. Just like the soldiers say, “Only those who have died have seen the end of war”…what a crock! Here’s my new saying, “Those that die come back and start this damned war!”

The infection starts just like any none-airborne virus; the exchange of bodily fluids. Trust me, like the flu it travels wicked fast. And of course your friendly neighborhood street trash helped spread the infection even faster. The Social Security offices, free health clinics, and run-down apartment complexes were freaking cesspools of infection! You learned quickly to stay far-far-away from those buildings like it was the plague. Hah ha, it was the freaking plague! Even after everything that I’ve been through, at least I still have my sense of humor; the only thing that I’ve kept from my former “pitiful” self.

I was some kind of loser before this happened. I barely graduated high-school, took one semester of community college, worked at some worthless job behind a cubicle all day with a boss who could be a reincarnation of the boss from the movie “Office Space”; I was a real “middle-of-the-road” kind of guy. Everything about me was mediocre at best. At least I had her then…

My book writing

So, I have had an idea to write a novel for quite some time now and I got the fever today to finally write it. It took me awhile to piece it all together what I wanted to do and I started writing today. I have the Forward, and most of the first section in chapter 1 finished. Out of excitement, I am going to post my forward on here for you all to read. That is the only thing I'm going to post from my book until it is 100% complete. The goal here for me is to feel accomplished in trying something I've never done before. I would love to have it be good enough to maybe get published some day, but that will most certainly be a pipe dream. lol. Anyway, here is my Forward! Enjoy!

Morning Fun w/ Tools and Cardboard

So, yesterday morning I (Travis) got up early with Alex to make him some breakfast and hang-out since I have been at work most of the week. After he ate his breakfast, I had this great idea to build a car out of this cardboard box that has been sitting in the living room for a week now. The reason being, Alex has this infatuation with cardboard boxes. His imagination goes WILD already at 2 years old. He pretends that it's an airlplane sometimes, makes it into a slide, car, truck, a THING...whatever current mood he is in...he loves his box.

By the time I got all of my tools ready, and Alex, excited about building his first car, (mine too) Brittany, got up and wanted to join in on the activity as well.

First, I cut the lid flaps on the top off and cut circles out of them for the wheels (cutting my inner-thigh while doing it), while Brittany and Alex were making the steering wheel and getting coloring supplies. Next, I cut a flap on the driver's side and made a door for him to open and close. Now that we had our door, tires, and steering wheel it was time to color! Me being an absolute car guy, I just had to incorporate many different things on this car. I.E. Mercedes symbol, Lexus trunk lights, Audi LED running lights, and the EVO halogyne headlamps. Oh ya...we had a LOT of fun.

He played in his new car for HOURS! He has a working steering wheel, a place to put in the car keys, a driver's seat made of pillows, and a tape-measurer to "go to work" with. Oh ya, and the ARR730 model of the car, are his initials: Alexander Rayne Royer. I added the GT for good measure. lol

Getting out of the car
Alex Waiving saying, "Eat my dust!"

He was trying to throw up Peace signs...this is what we got. lol

Brittany had dubbed his car the, "Rayne Catcher"

Here are some updates as to what we've been up to. So hopefully this will make someone happy, Lol, I love you Amanda.

Washing the Car

Alex decided he wanted to help Daddy wash the car and the best way for a kid to do that is to get into stuff. LOL. We all had a great time, especially Alex.
Time to drive

Make it pretty
Luckily for us he can't reach the pedals yet. but it was fun.

Pinewood Derby

In case you guys don't know Travis is the Cub Master at our Ward so recently we had the pinewood derby. It was my first time being a part of it. I unfortunatly forgot my camera for it, but I was lucky enough to be able to make a cake for the event. I added cars to it later, once we got to the church, but this is the finished product. I had so much fun making it, and even more fun at the derby. The kids were all so excited and rooting for eachother, but I think that the parent's just got a little more into it than the kids. It was funny. We all had a blast. The kids had to take driving tests and recieved their licenses. We made one for Alex too, but unfortunatly it got left in his pocket and it went through the wash. But it was fun while it lasted.

My Dad's 50th Birthday

The Whole Family
Just a fraction of the guests

The infamous outhouse

My dad...Cowboy Up!

So my Dad turned 50 this year and we had his party at our house. He is a cowboy at heart and so we had a western theme. Amanda helped me with the invitations and they were awesome. It looked like a wanted poster with his picture on them. Almost the entire family showed up and lots of his friends too. Lots of people dressed up too, including myself. Oh yes, I have my own hats and boots. We had such an awesome time. I think the best part about the entire party, besides the company, was that my mother in law, Kristi, made him a cake in the shape of an outhouse. It was a big hit. And no it didn't taste like crap. LOL. Though it was made of chocolate, it was probably one of my favorites.
We had bales of hay in the backyard to sit on, decorations of wanted signs and cactus and the bathroom door was covered to look like an outhouse. With bar-b-que hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken with chips and soda you can't go wrong. We also had karaoke, but not too many people joined in. Mostly the kids and me and my sisters, but at least we know how to have fun.

Easter

So we just recently moved into our new house just two doors down from Mom and Dad. That being said it was only appropriate to have the first holiday at our place. So the Easter bunny was on his way. We had a total of 22 people in our house. It was so much fun.

In the morning Alex woke up to find that the Easter bunny had came and brought him a basket full of toy trains, cars, candy, and clothes. The day was off to a wonderful start. It was originally going to be our family of 3 and my Dad, his wife Pete and my stepbrother Danny. We also invited Mom and Dad Royer which also meant that we got Karli and Juarez because they were down to visit, and it was awesome. Amanda and Brad had his family here as well.

They were originally going to go to Lake Arrowhead for Easter, but decided to stay in town, which meant we got to spend the holiday with them as well. So we now added Amanda, Brad, their 3 kids, Brad's parents Mike and Deedee, Brad's sister and brother in law and their 3 kids as well.

We were also so excited to have some of our very best friends Shawn and Emily come over with their new little one Hyrum. So needless to say we had a house full. What started off as a small get together turned into a mini family reunion. Totally awesome. It was nice to have everyone together.

We, Alex and I, had died one dozed eggs and the Easter bunny had 3 dozed plastic eggs filled with candy. As for Amanda and her family... well, they died 3 dozed eggs and had a ton more of plastic eggs. All of our eggs together totalled almost 400 eggs. For just 7 kids. Talk about fun! The yard was covered in eggs. All the kids had a great time.

After dinner we all hung out, played a little rockband and enjoyed eachothers company. I would say not bad for our first party.

Honeymoon in Mexico

So we just got back this week from our wonderful 8 day cruise to the mexican riviera for our honeymoon. It was AWESOME! We saw the cliff divers in Acapulco...went jet skiing in Zihuatenejo at a private beach... and just went shopping in Manzanillo. The sights were beautiful. This is us in front of our cruise ship. We also took a pic in front of another cruise ship just to get a laugh from the family.
This is us in Zihuatanejo. By far our favorite stop on our trip. Not only were the people the nicest here, but the food was great and we had the pleasure of getting serenaded on the beach by two gentlemen who later flipped us the bird because they were unhappy with their tip. We couldn't stop laughing afterward. It was great.

This is Acapulco at night. Very beautiful. We had dinner at a beautiful restraunt overlooking the bay and then went to see the cliff divers that night. If anyone ever goes there I highly recommend it. They were doing backflips and for the grand finale he jumped with torches. It was so cool. We also had a shaved ice while we were there. FYI: Don't drink the water in Mexico.

All in all it was a great trip. We had a few sick days, did lots of shopping, did lots of activities on the ship, including the newlywed...not so newlywed game which, by the way we got called up to stage and ended up winning. Of course we won champagne and just gave it away, but Travis had the pleasure of being called "Loofa Man" for the rest of the trip. We got to meet lots of new people and enjoy a great time together for the first time as a new couple.
We don't have any new pics of the wedding yet, but as soon as we get them they will definitly be posted. If you want to see a preview you can go to our friend Alicia's blogspot. She was our photographer and did an absolutely amazing job. She has a few pics posted there.

I got a new JOB!!

So, I have been working at Geek Squad for the past few months now. It's a descent job, but lately I haven't been getting very many hours due to the poor economy. So, needless to say....we have been under a bit of stress.

As we were discussing what we were going to do...since the wedding is VERY close, my phone started to ring. It was a gentleman in our ward who has been trying to set me up with a job since October, telling me that I just got hired! We are SO excited!

My new job is working at the Staples Center/Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles as a Broadcaster/technical engineer. My job will be making sure that all of the video/audio is working around the entire complex for sports events, shows, and award ceremonies. We were so excited that I just had to write a blog about it. Thank you Brother Nowlan!

Wedding Day is coming

We have just two weeks until our wedding, and we still have quite a lot left to do. The exciting part is that the venue we are having it at is doing all the ecorations and things for us which will make it a little easier since we are traveling to Utah. We are both so very excited that we will be husband and wife shortly. And of course we are excited about the honeymoon too. It's going to be freakin' sweet! lol.

Christmas Time!

Christmas morning was awesome! It was my first year playing the big-red jolly dude, and I had such a great time getting everything ready the night before christmas with Britt and everyone. We all woke up tired, but very much in a great mood. Alex got lots of presents and was thrilled to death at the idea of Santa Clause. After the present opening, Brittany, Alex, and I traveled to Britt's grandparents house for celebration, then on to her step-mom's, then back to mom and dad's for the most fabulous dinner ever! lol. We hope everyone's Christmas was just as awesome and/or better. Happy New Year!
